Salt Water Farm is excited to host a special evening online cooking class to benefit Finding Our Voices, entitled “Coming into the Light.” This event will embrace the longer days and a brighter and more hopeful future for women. Together, we will prepare a light and colorful mid winter meal. All participants will receive recipes, shopping and prep lists ahead of time so that they can cook along with me. Patrisha, founder and president of Finding Our Voices, will kick off the evening with an update on how this Camden-based non-profit is making life safer and happier for children and women across Maine. Then, we’ll make a special vegetarian meal to share with our respective households. All proceeds from this event will go towards Finding Our Voices.

Finding Our Voices marshals Survivor faces and Voices, community creativity, and the support of businesses, to help girls and women recognize, avoid, safely leave and heal from dangerous relationships; and to educate the general community about the complexity, insidiousness, and pervasiveness of domestic abuse. Learn more at the Finding Our Voices website.

Below is our menu for the evening:

Carrot and Beet Salad with Cilantro and Feta

Israeli Cous-cous with Turmeric, Currants, Mint and Lemon

Lemon Curd Tart with Fresh Whipped Cream
